Roli Delgado – Straight Ankle Lock Set Up – Did you see that sick setup?! Read the full breakdown below!

? Did you see that sick setup?! Read the full breakdown below!?
1) Roli’s opponent is in combat base and tries to knee-slide to pass Roli’s guard. Roli defends this by grabbing the ankle and holding it close to his hip, while using his legs to immobilize the opponent’s leg. Roli keeps downward pressure with one leg on the opponet’s calf, while the other is blocking the knee so that the opponent can’t just pull his leg straight out during the pass.
?
2) The opponent tried to get his hip to the mat so he can avoid a sweep and backstep out of Roli’s guard. Roli overhooks the outside of the opponent’s free leg and buries it in the opponent’s knee which is a huge disruption to the opponent’s base. He can no longer clock around Roli since the path is blocked, and is at risk for being rolled backwards in a sweep.
?
3) Roli pulls on the ankle he is still gripping while pushing his knee into the back of the opponent’s knee, stretching him out. This allows Roli to swim underneath the opponent and completely disrupt his base. He tried to dive forward, which is what Roli wanted. He releases the leg he’s been controlling so that he can take a figure-4 grip on the leg he originally overhooked. This grip will make it difficult for the opponent to pull their foot out at any angle.
?
4) Roli throws his top leg completely over the opponent, pinches the opponent’s knee between his own, and rolls over the leg. This rolling doesn’t just to look cool, he’s using his body to drive a wedge between the opponent’s legs to isolate one of them. Notice that Roli was on the outside of the opponent’s hips, but the roll forces the opponent’s hip to the mat and opens his knees for Roli’s body to land in.
?
5) The opponent tries his own ankle lock, but Roli has the superior position and control, and so the opponent decides to defend the lock rather than start his own attack. He tries to sit up and grip Roli, but Roli breaks the grip and gets his top leg on the opponent’s hip so that he can no longer reach forward. All it takes is a little sit back from Roli and he gets the tap. ?
