Judo practice at white belt is more like one new throw each practice. Ten from the right, ten from the left. Ten from the right, ten from the left. Again. Again. Again. By the time randori rolls around, you've done that throw 100 times (50 times each side) and you've made it part of your toolkit.

I agree with Akren, but how many moves does wrestling have compared to JJ and how often is wrestling evolving? Jiu Jitsu is continuously evolving and will continue to do so. So I agree people need to drill more, but they can also do that on their own time. For most people when they pay for classes it’s a limited amount of time and they want to learn as much as possible. I completely
understand.

Drilling is fine. But muscle memory is built in jiu jitsu rolling everyday. That's where is innovation comes from. There is nothing wrong with jiu jitsu! You can't decide you want to change jiu jitsu based on wrestling approach and what wrestlers do. . Also jiu jitsu is fun, rolling is the best exercise where you feel that euphoria and leave all your problems on the mat rolling hard with your opponents round after round. It caters to everyone. I don't think any school would stay open drilling every class and only once a week rolling. Nobody would stay. That's why there's jiu jitsu schools everywhere for the average joe,with a job and family, housewife to high end athletes and competitors …and very few wrestling schools.
