Observations from rolling in uniform: it’s a lot harder ?. Greatly reduced torso flexion due to the vest and belt, retentions get inadvertently released, belt keepers are absolutely necessary, the soles of your boots get caught on loose clothing, and stuff in my pockets will fall out. I like to keep the back of my belt clear because having stuff positioned there hurts if you get stuck underneath someone. Watching this I can see that I not only have to be mindful of the same side hand for #weaponretention, but also the far hand reaching around the back from the other side. What do you think is the best top position to control and retain your tools? I’m thinking side control or knee on belly. We are very lucky to have opportunities to train like this with our new hires like Robbie ??. Lots of work to do.
