There seems to be a misunderstanding. Lots of police were sent based upon the belief he may be a highly capable combative party. He wasn’t, but they didn’t find that out until after they got there. Officers also had to do a full investigation. Of which, in cases of domestic violence they are often required to make an arrest per state statute. Unfortunately often times the only evidence in a case are witness statements and evidence of injury. To say the police lied is to claim rumor as fact. As best as I can tell, he was never charged with assault or resisting arrest.
