This choke will put people to sleep for a couple of big reasons. Firstly, it’s just a solid and powerful choke from a mechanical standpoint. Secondly, it’s deceptive and usually most effective from “bad” positions. Be safe training with this one!

Eli Knight of Knight Jiu-Jitsu shows a strong lapel control that leads to a variety of chokes, and Jared Jessup of IQ Jiu-Jitsu shows how to set up a high percentage arm lock that can be done with or without the use of the gi.
