This is however a fun and frustrating position with lots of great submission possibilities from it. This is a bottom cradle variation with rubber guard elements, making for a really strong position. <p>There is a principle I use all the time when discussing escaping submission attempts, whether early escaping or late escaping. I refer to this as the &#8220;Fish Hook Principle&#8221; and I explain the story behind why in the video. Most all submission escapes operate under this principle and the rest is just timing and technique, which is simplified by understanding this underlying concept. Hope this helps!</p>
