<p>I received a message from our friend who is experiencing a lot of pressure and negativity related with Brazilian Jiu-jitsu training.</p>
<p>He says that there was a lot of pressure put on him because he was promoted very quickly. And it bothered him. So much so, that many times his training has now become a negative thing.</p>
<p>When he moved away to a school away from his home BJJ gym. He thought that the negative feeling he had experienced would be left behind.</p>
<p>As I&#8217;ll discuss in the video. That just like him I was promoted very quickly to my Blue Belt and Purple Belt. And like our friend&#8217;s expectations and negative feelings. I felt a huge pressure to uphold my spot as one of the best guys in the gym during Brazilian Jiu-jitsu training.</p>
<p>And like our friend, these expectations were from within me. Even when I moved to a new gym. The pressure, nerves and expectations just to take part in a training session were still there.</p>
<p>So in the video I share with him of the idea of simply letting go of that. Obviously, you have to push yourself and do your best. But you can&#8217;t be eaten up with pressure all the time when you&#8217;re training.</p>
<p>It destroys your ability to learn and enjoy the Brazilian Jiu-jitsu training.</p>
<p>So I gave him the best tip I was given back as a Purple Belt which was to simply let go of all of that.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s not easy, and will take time, but that simple conversation I had with my coaches was as strong as any BJJ basics or technique I ever learned.</p>
