My favorite technique combo from knee on belly: attack the cross choke, and if they defend, deadlift back take. If they read and resist the back take, go back to the cross choke, which is tighter from them fighting the back take.

The Fireman’s Carry, or kata garuma, is one of the coolest throws found across multiple disciplines and sports. Whether it’s judo, jiu-jitsu, wrestling, Sambo or other grappling styles, this throw is exciting, dynamic and effective. However, traditional versions of it tend to require a good deal of athleticism. This modified version in this video, in my opinion, is a little more accessible. Since learning this one years again, I’ve loved it. So I’m sharing some of the details on it here, modifications, entries and finishes. I hope you like it.

Cross Choke From the Knee Cut Pass

One of my favorite set ups for my favorite choke. When you are passing through the guard with the knee cut pass the neck is often overlooked and open. If you clear the knee and they are still holding on to your foot, attack the neck.
