It’s wild how the negative voice in our heads—what I call the dark passenger—often doesn’t even allow us to dream big. The moment you think about stepping into a new challenge, that voice shows up with excuses, doubts, and fear.

You must stand up to that mental bully living in your head and pursue your authenticity—that’s the key word for me.

In my book “Inner Discovery for Outer Success: 10 Rules to Integrate Authenticity and Performance in Jiu-Jitsu and Beyond”, Rule #1 is about discovering your Why.
Why do you want to fly high? What are your intrinsic and extrinsic motivations?

For me, my strongest intrinsic motivation is pursuing my authenticity.
And one of my extrinsic motivations is to inspire you to live an even more authentic life—on and off the mats.
