What do you do when your training partner doesn’t tap out during your BJJ rolling?

This is the question from 1 of the Youtube viewer. With his situation he has fully applied heel hooks but some people don’t tap. So he’s wondering, what do you do if this happens.

So in this video I share how you can use these situations to sharpen and improve your BJJ submissions. And I’ll touch on a situation where I had an MMA who wouldn’t tap out and what I did.

After watching the video you should have several different ways of approaching the situation. Because in most cases, if you’re at a good BJJ gym, people not tapping means you need to improve your application or control of the technique.

Thanks for watching the video!

What’s up guys,

Today I’m going to show you a really simple counter to the traditional straight Ankle Lock from Single Leg X/Ashi.

Quick story,

I got this technique from a guy who was training at the gym, a Jiu-Jitsu Brown or Black Belt at the time, Clay, and while we were rolling, I attacked a Single Leg X Ankle Lock.

He then proceeded to submit me with this counter. Ever Since then, I’ve used it a ton in training BJJ.

Hopefully, if you like leg locks for Jiu-Jitsu, then you enjoyed this video and found the technique helpful.

Thanks for watching.

Floating Pins, or Uki Gatame, are a category of pinning in Judo and Jiu-Jitsu that are versatile and powerful. This is due to the combination of stability and mobility they offer the top player. Knee on belly is probably the most famous example of this style of position, but other variations exist and are also very useful for eliciting submission opportunities. In this video, I cover examples including triangles, darce chokes, arm locks, leg attacks and more. Hope you enjoy it and find it useful.

Butterfly guard has the potential to be the best position to initiate sweeps, and it also a potentially target rich environment for setting up submissions and transitioning to other threatening positions. That’s the theme of this video. In this one, I show some options of what we can do from butterfly in order to attack the arms, transition into arm saddle, and attack the legs or take the back from X-Guard, all initiated from butterfly. I hope this helps your game!

This clip is from a seminar I taught on combining guard passing and leg attacks at @griffonrawl_combat_sports and this particular sequence is a stomp leg drag to saddle entry from top. We looked at several saddle submissions, but this Aoki lock is my favorite, I believe. The full seminar is coming this week to Patreon.com/KnightJiuJitsu
