Mason Fowler is a two-time ADCC Trials winner who has won titles for several different major promotions like UFC BJJ and Submission Underground. Fowler is actually the inaugural and reigning UFC BJJ light-heavyweight world champion, and will next be preparing for his first title-defense.

Jits Magazine’s Alex Lindsey spoke to Mason about his experience as one of the first few BJJ competitors to sign an exclusive contract with UFC BJJ, and he shared his thoughts on that recent development in the sport. Mason also spoke about his early gi career at black belt, and explained why he’s never competed at the IBJJF World Championship at that level. He then revealed the opponents he’s looking at facing for his first UFC BJJ title-defense.
