<p>In this video I show a way to manipulate the foot to escape Knee on Belly.</p>
<p>While it is being shown from Knee on Belly please keep in mind that this relationship works from a lot of different places. I&#8217;ve had a good bit of success pulling the foot in between the legs for a long time, primarily when my partner/opponent tries to hide their foot from the outside Single or when I try to grab the ankle. When they try to pivot the foot away it becomes easily accessible.</p>
<p>When attempting this move as it is being shown the hardest part will be grabbing the ankle. Expect to be crossfaced during the transition and focus on getting your belly to the floor rather than turning into them. It will be a battle, but the more elevation you get with your body the more power is in this grip.</p>
<p>In the next video I show a very slick entry into this that makes it much easier, but knowing the mechanics of this movement and the pathway to the hands will make the other set up much easier.</p>

<p>In this video I show a relationship between the legs that I&#8217;ve found a lot of use in. From time to time I like to use the Rolling Back Attack or the Twister Roll set up. This is similar in concept but totally different in execution.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve really been enjoying laying on the legs specifically. This video doesnt do the position justice in my opinion because the majority of my weight is put onto the legs in very controlling manner. If your opponent/partner is waiting for the front roll to come they will be surprised when you slowly and methodically move your hips away with that pant control. My experience with this move has been pretty fantastic.</p>
<p>With that being said, when I attempted to show this to some of my students some of them got it immediately, while others really struggled with the relationship of the legs.</p>
<p>The power is in the spacing of the leg. This means that you can make the space by moving your hips back rather than kicking them away with the leg. If your partner/opponent is feeling to tight to your hips and there is no pocket for them to fall then you need to focus on moving your hips away rather than kicking with the leg (although there will still be tension on the leg).</p>
<p>Lastly, the hooking and binding feature on the leg only becomes available when they are partially broken down. This means that you will have to use that pant grip to help pull them partially over. You should feel your foot lock into place extremely securely while only using one leg. This gives you an extra leg to help continue to break them down. When done correctly it has some aspects that feel very much like the Lock Down position with the legs but you&#8217;ll only be using the one leg.</p>

<p>In this video I show an Open Guard Pass that I call the Pony Pass. This is an important transition that presents itself a lot throughout various positions but I feel this is one of the easiest ways to practice the movement.</p>
<p>After the demonstration of the technique I included some instruction on what a good training partner will do to produce the desired space for practice. Obviously, while rolling, this will be a much smaller window but the concept applies the same.</p>
<p>This is part of a passing sequence that I showed from DLR and while this does not appear to be that viable, when paired with the second pass, it happens a lot more than you would think.</p>
<p>As you get better at this movement you will not have to place your hands on the floor (and you really should avoid doing that after you master the weight transfer and pathway with your hips).</p>

<p>In this video I show a transition from the North/South Choke to the Paper Cutter. I also provide a few tips on how to finish this technique.</p>
<p>Often when I see this move performed it crushes the windpipe. While this can be a bi product of doing the move, it should be a strangle first (blood choke). Make sure to understand that the collar is one piece of cloth and the collar grip under the shoulder has the ability to tighten the choke as well.</p>
<p>Make sure your hips are turned towards your opponents and your only on one cheek. The pathway around the head is very important and adds a lot to the choke. Check it out and try it both ways during drilling and you will see there is a clearly better choke.</p>

<p>In this video I show a really fun and dynamic pass. I&#8217;ve known this pass for awhile, and while I&#8217;ve gotten some success out of it, it is important to realize that it not something you should rely on regularly.</p>
<p>Once your opponent/partner gets a beat on you that you like to do this they will be very careful of allowing that top leg to stay straight. This can be a powerful thing in setting up your other passes, as the threat of this is forcing them to continually pump their legs. Make sure you use the threat of this, to set up your other passes.</p>
<p>With that being said, makes sure to watch the video to see the pathway that I take. There is some variance available in the pass, but make sure that you look towards the ceiling and create backwards pressure on the calf while at the same time you&#8217;re performing a wrestling shot.</p>

<p>This is a very common pass to the Spider Guard. It is highly effective throughout all of the ranks if you can get standing on the thigh. Keep in mind, against an active Spider Guard Player that your timing and spatial control will have to be extremely well controlled in order to stand on the thigh. It is for that reason that I say this pass is a medium percentage pass. Not because it&#8217;s not good, but becuase it is common enough that most avid Spider Guard players are on the look out for this movement.</p>
<p>I point out in the video that you want to step on the bottom leg when it is straight. Throughout the week we had a lot of conversations about this bottom leg, and although I say the leg should be straight, it is ok to step on that leg at any time when you can get to it. Pinning it to the ground has a lot of power, especially when it comes to breaking the grip on the sleeve.</p>
<p>This move is best used in conjunction with the other passes. If you go to step on the thigh , and they pump their legs and move their hips away from the step it&#8217;s totally ok to combine this with the last pass that I posted. It will also work in conjunction with the future passes that I will post.</p>

<p>In this video I show a way to bail out when you&#8217;re a little over zealous with your Belt Row. The Belt Row can be a really powerful technique and against someone who has not seen the entry, it can be extremely easy to over estimate your opponent&#8217;s base.</p>
<p>With that being said, it&#8217;s not that bad of a thing for you, when you really launch your opponent. Just make sure that you practice the transition a few times as you will not have a lot of time to make the transition.</p>
