Recently I got a question from a viewer who is curious about whether or not his training partners are using dick moves during rolling. He says that in particular a couple of them use their fist and drive it into his neck and face.

When this happens, he gets a bit upset and begins to get more aggressive because he wants to smash them for being rough with him.

But his question boils down to this. Is this kind of practice dirty or is it acceptable?

So in the video I explain when it’s perfectly acceptable to use pain and be a little bit of an a-hole to achieve your technical aim.

In today’s video I answer a question from someone who was trying to light roll and it went wrong for him. Basically he said he was trying to go a little easier and ended up getting into a tough roll with someone who didn’t go at the same pace as him.

After the roll he was both frustrated by the situation and upset with himself for getting angry. In this video I share some ideas on choosing training partner for rolling in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and also some of my own experiences of trying to go light, but getting rough rolled.

Hope the video is helpful to you!

Have you ever dealt with someone who was overly aggressive towards women in BJJ? If so, how did you deal with it?

Recently I received a question from a BJJ assistant coach who is dealing with someone who is hyper aggressive with the female training partners in their Brazilian Jiu-jitsu gym.

He says that the pattern has been created where he will get submitted by a woman and then becomes hyper aggressive and has injured or negatively affected all of the female training partners in the gym.

He says his instinct is to motion to the head coach to kick the guy out. But sends me the question to get my thoughts on the matter.

In this video I discuss how I would certainly not give the guy the boot, at least not yet.

Unfortunately, I’ve dealt with this sort of situation and have been a bit of a hyper aggressive person in BJJ myself.

And in some cases people are completely ignorant to their misgivings and rough, unnecessary and reckless aggression.

I also share how I personally dealt with a similar situation that happened in my gym years ago.

Thanks for watching!
