“Many parents ask me how they should “roll” with their children. Here is an example…but it’s very important that the adult knows jiu-jitsu, so you can react and help your children the right way.

I don’t like to roll “too easy” neither I try “to kill” the children that I’m rolling with. I like to make sure they are working to conquer their techniques. Also, they must understand jiu-jitsu mechanics (action & reaction). You must make sure they are having fun while they are learning jiu-jitsu properly.”

“Andre Galvao is one of the greatest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athletes of all time, with 6 IBJJF World Championship titles, 10 IBJJF Pan American Championships, and 6 ADCC World Championship titles (4x as the ADCC Super Fight Champion). He received his black belt from Luis “Careca” Dagmar, having also worked extensively with Fernando Terere.
