The ezekiel choke is one of the first chokes that truly made sense, coming through the belts. And there was a point where all I wanted was a way to do it without the gi, so I started exploring.

This was the answer I discovered.

Important detail:

In this variation of the ezekiel, you have to forget the mechanics of the sleeve application. There is no chopping motion, and pressure from the shoulder actually weakens it. Instead, the key is to set the grip right and just flex the forearms and biceps to finish the choke clean.

One of my facebook friends asked me to share my favorite Ezekiel Choke setup. This is the highest percentage one I use from mount position. There is a no gi version I like quite a bit but it is quite different than this one. If you like the choke give this little setup a try.
