Lapel CHOKE Submission BJJ

Get INSIDE the LAPEL CHOKE Submission for BJJ. Carl Fisher of Checkmat Wimbledon shows the easy way to get a CHOKE Sub from Side Control using your opponents Gi. Ron Roy is the willing Uke.

Carl Fisher is a BJJ black belt and a veteran of many high profile grappling events in the UK and around the world, competing in the first ever BJJ event in Jordan in 2008. The club is affiliated to the Checkmat team under the tutelage of black belt Luiz Ribeiro, head coach at London Fight Factory.

Carl medalled at the Scandinavian Open in October 2009 and was a regular medallist at the Hereford Open and the UMA events up to 2012. His first match at brown belt was against BJJ Globetrotter Christian Graugart in the first ever brown belt match to be hosted in Scotland in 2011. Carl took bronze at Grab and Pull in Manchester in 2012 and competed in Abu Dhabi in 2013 in the brown and black belt division at the BJJ Asian Cup.

In 2010, Carl trained at the legendary Tiger Camp in Phuket and returned from Brazil in October 2010 after a month long training trip, learning jiu jitsu at the academies in Rio de Janeiro. In 2012, Carl worked in the local schools in Abu Dhabi, teaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as part of the school curriculum.

HARPOON SWEEP BJJ

The HARPOON SWEEP is one of the more creative ways of scoring 2 points for a sweep in an IBJJF rules competition and looks great on your highlight reel.
This video shows the sweep only and finishes with the sweeper in side control. There is also an option to roll for an ompolata on the left arm. It’s a lot of fun to practice in training and feels awesome when you hit the sweep in the gym or at a competition : )

Carl Fisher is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and is the chief instructor at Checkmat Wimbledon in London. Carl has been involved in martial arts for over 25 years and holds Dan grades in Karate and Traditional Jiu Jitsu and also trains in Judo, Sambo and Thai Boxing. In addition, Carl has over 20 years experience on the front line in the Security industry and has had the pleasure of pressure testing his skills on a weekly basis in pubs and clubs up and down the UK.

AIKIDO Movement Techniques pt21

We filmed Christian Tissier teaching superb Aikido at the Brighton Aikikai organised Spring seminar in Gillingham, Kent, UK.

Christian Tissier (b. 1951 Paris, France) a renowned European Aikido teacher, he pioneered the growth of the art in France. In 1983 he was a founding member of the Fédération Française d’Aïkido Aïkibudo et Affinitaires (FFAAA or 2F3A).
Aikido training began as a child in 1962 in Tavernier’s Dojo in Paris, following the style of Hiroo Mochizuki. He went on to train with Mutsuro Nakazono and earned his 2nd dan before leaving for Tokyo in 1969. He went to the Aikikai Hombu Dojo as an 18-year-old, and trained there for seven years. Among his teachers are Seigo Yamaguchi, Kisaburo Osawa and the second doshu Kisshomaru Ueshiba. In Tokyo, he also trained in Kenjutsu under Minoru Inaba at the Shiseikan and in Kickboxing at the Mejiro Gym.

He received 7th dan in 1998, and is among the handful of westerners who have been given the title Shihan 8th Dan by the Aikikai in Jan 2016 by Aikido’s Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba.
