Sadly this inevitably led to the sport becoming boring af. Most fights end with cats laying on top of other people for minutes at a time. Unless your somewhat versed in the technique, you can’t really follow along.
Which simultaneously leads to this odd pseudo-warrior culture within the fandom that makes it unbearable for people who exist outside of the sport.
Some fights are always gonna be entertaining. But watching a cat tackle another dude who otherwise woulda rocked him and then get applauded is pretty lame, as a viewer.

The very first UFC championship was rigged by the Gracie's. It was just a whole promotion for their retarded jujitsu company. He's trash they're trash your trash. Lol.
What happened was Royce strangled him with his belt. He won with a trick not because BJJ is better. And although BJJ has always remained an important part of MMA the Gracies never won again and till this day no champ has used BJJ to become a champ since then.
The first UFC champion is a Grappler, and people today are complaining saying that grappling skill is boring, they know nothing about MMA or UFC, they should watch boxing instead.
