I really, really believe that competing is good for everyone! You have built the courage to just come to a Jiu Jitsu Academy and now you have got comfortable with your team mates and the way the class flows. But I think that Jiu Jitsu practitioners should think about placing in that little bit of extra excitement and ‘nervousness’ of competing. This is a chance to test your skills against someone completely new who has gone on a different journey than you and who might have a skill set that will challenge and push you. Win or lose. I guarantee you will be better for it and your Jiu Jitsu will be better for it…watch this video as I discuss this important topic.
