#FBF In honor of the Omoplata technique video I posted a couple of days ago, here is an example of me using one of those variations in a great battle against the warrior Lucas Leite. This is a fairly basic ? guard set up, but there are a couple of big details in the transition to the sweep.

1) Because my left hand is occupied with holding the sleeve of the arm I’m attacking, I have to catch his right leg with my right hand as he attempts to jump over my head to the other side. 2) Notice how high my left elbow raises under his butt to help me off balance him & get up. 3) To help me get up strong, I turn onto my right elbow. Be careful to not turn onto your shoulder & get stuck under your opponent.
