STEP ON THIGH GUARD PASS – KNEE ON BELLY – BACK – BOW AND ARROW
The bow and arrow choke is one of the essential BJJ lapel chokes, and has a variety of entries. To make this guard pass work, I push my opponent in order to get him to react and push back, which makes it easy to take his knee to the mat, and make sure to keep your arm straight so your opponent can’t twist his knee back. Also, when stepping make sure to let your weight pass forward to avoid your opponent spazzing while still keeping his leg pinned to the mat. For the Bow and Arrow choke don’t fall backwards, remain seated, and stay tuned for Wednesday when I do a video specifically on this awesome choke.
