this video means a lot to us. it shows me a lot of character from young people. I am so proud to see that I was always able to appreciate the success of those around me. this video is from 2011 worlds, I won light-feather (closing out w ary),rafael won featherweight and durinho won lightweight. we were on our early 20s and we were training together since we were 15/16 years old. everyday pushing each other and making each other better. their win was my win, and I could feel that my win was also their win. people that create a team atmosphere and are happy when others succeed normally are also working hard to achieve their goals as well, and they will get there. in our talks on the way home or after training we were always sharing our dreams and plans for the future, we all wanted to have beautiful families, use our passion to provide for our family, and while rafa and I dreamed about becoming multiple time world champions and having a jiu jitsu powerhouse in the US, durinho always made it clear that his goal was to become a black belt world champion and then start his career in mma, to become the UFC champion. in a couple of days he will have the opportunity to achieve this goal, and we will be watching him to celebrate his success like we always did. fly high brother.
