Seated guard/retention analysis- you see here the top player should never play with a square stance for long amounts of time because it makes it incredibly easy for the bottom player to harass the feet, causing dramatic off balances and over reactions. Here, I use a double koichi to create an initial off balance, followed by a 2 on 1 ankle. Once I dragged cyborg into irimi ashi, he immediately gave the correct counter by attempting to long step over and get 2 of his legs to the same side of my body. I countered the counter by keeping a sticky hook with my right foot, keeping my 2 legs between his, while simultaneously keeping a cross lat post with my right hand, preventing him from establishing upper body inside position. In this 20 second clip, we see counter after counter, recounters at every corner, and high level technique displayed from start to finish by us both. I will soon be releasing a 2017 adcc analysis to see what successes and shortcoming I had that weekend. Basically it’s just an entire video of me berating my former self for being so terrible, you’ll all enjoy it 😂
