I would’ve helped as well if possible and if more people did this overall crime would take a big dive and the only need for the police was to take bad guy and make report.
I am shocked, the shopkeeper didn't appear to have his head split open by the bat hits. It does look like he was a little out of it for a couple seconds.

Sad that he isn’t allowed to own a more effective weapon and defend himself. One hit could’ve knocked him out and a second hit could’ve killed him. He didn’t even duck. Took him forever to close the distance. A gun would’ve stopped this idiot in his tracks. Thankfully, the attacker was weak. This victim was very lucky and he eventually did a good job of fighting back, though.
I would have beat the ever living FUCK out of the guy. I carry, but I wouldn't draw my firearm unless I were being attacked myself. There were numerous times while living in China that I was forced to intervene in all kinds of fights, while the local cowards just stood by making cell phone videos. I have no problem planting a steel toed boot in the ribs of an attacker.
Oh I forgot, no guns in Australia. Be a cold day in hell when I conceal carry a shopping cart……

my choice would be depend on country and city. some country will charge against bystander for helping clerk, even though he was defendant. i think some of US cities would be okay to help defendant, but i'm worried about leftist cities

I am a woman but I definitely would have stayed to help. I can't help myself but I always get involved with situations that don't pertain to me. I feel obligated to help the victim. I would want someone to help me if the table's were turned.
