#TBT Sweeping in 🇧🇷 as a brown belt seventeen years ago! This is from the 2003 @ibjjf Mundials. That same week was the first time I trained with Sensei Saulo @ribeirojiujitsu & @xanderibeirojj in Copacabana. You can see I was already influenced by their games, because this is a sweep they are both well known for especially Xande. It is a great way to catch your opponent by surprise 💥

Another adaptation & training tool that I’m adding to the 🧰 @baseblocks. Working on developing some functional strength & agility while having fun at the same time. I’ve been playing with these for a solid 10-15min every other day or so & I can tell that I not only haven’t lost any strength, but I think I’ve gained some. Truth is, I don’t have a routine or anything, I just get on & play. So many possibilities & it is a lot of fun to feel like a gymnast 😆 Today I was working to get my handstand game & body control stronger 💪🏼

This is definitely one of the finest & most insane purple belt matches I have ever witnessed! Here is @bmalfacine & @gabrielmoraesjj battling in the 2004 @cbjjoficial Brasileiro finals. Unreal scrambles & technical exchanges at 100mph! Both become multiple time Black Belt World Champions & Gabriel actually wins his first Black Belt title just a couple of months later! That’s right, you heard that correctly. Gabriel skipped brown belt & went straight to Black Belt winning the Worlds only two months after this match. One of the most insane trajectories ever!!! Both are legends, much respect ✊🏼
