When playing lasso guard, your opponent will often step their leg, on the same side of the lasso arm forward, and connect their elbow to their knee as a way of stopping you from isolating their arm. ⠀

This can make hitting the omoplata extremely difficult, as all entries rely heavily on your ability to isolate your opponent’s arm, that is their elbow, from their body. ⠀
