The SafeWrap System is a proprietary method of lateral restraint by which two people can effectively and safely subdue an aggressive, suicidal, or emotionally disturbed person for an extended period of time while greatly reducing the risks of injury to all parties involved.
The system utilizes no joint locks, no pressure points, no choke holds, and is specifically designed to avoid compression on the diaphragm which facilitates breathing.
The SafeWrap System also includes the Lateral Handcuffing Procedure which allows the users to easily transition into handcuffing WITHOUT the use of prone restraint which facilitates de-escalation and greatly reduces the potential of a panicked response by the person being restrained.
Best of all, the system is very easy to learn and proficiency can be maintained with as little as 2-to-4 hours of hands-on training per year.
The SafeWrap System is patent pending worldwide and requires a license for use which can only be obtained after one completes the SafeWrap Instructor Certification Program.
All NYPD Arrest & Control instructors are now certified in the SafeWrap System and now they have the responsibility of sharing the system with over 30,000 officers on the force.
