Throwback to the time a drunk man wanted to beat me up.
A few years ago, one day after I beat Ricco Rodriguez in the Fight To Win main event I was agressed by an drunk man in his late 40s. He was small, helpless, and very drunk.
It all started when I seen him trying to pick a fight with another man in the parking lot. I told him to relax, it wasn’t going down when I was there. He walked to the front of Walmart and waited for me with his shirt off.
I felt absolutely no threat whatsoever, my flip flops were off so I wouldn’t trip when I was moving. I knew he didn’t have a weapon because he would have reached for it already. When I closed the distance and grabbed his wrists, I did so with a very strong grip. I tried to calm him down and reiterated the fact that I did not want to fight.
If this man were younger, bigger, stronger, the situation could have went much differently. The reason I wanted it to be filmed was incase he got out of control.
I get lots of shit sometimes from people, but understand I never look for violence and do my best to avoid it. This wasn’t my first encounter with drunk belligerent men, and I’m very comfortable dealing with it. I find no satisfaction in crushing someone that has no chance.
I’m thankful it went as smooth as this.
