Hey Scout, you ever think about doing a podcast? Perhaps with a metrosexual British analyst….if you know any that is.

Excellent study on Frankie! My prediction is that Ortega will win via decision. I know, it sounds crazy but that's just the way I see it going. Frankie is going to land clean shots on Ortega but ultimately I think Ortega will negate Frankie's slips and entering the pocket because Ortega can set shit up from there, he doesn't need to take you down to submit you. So, I think there's gonna be a few close calls where Frankie gets collar tied and snapped down or something like that, where he's gonna get caught in a submission. I don't think he's gonna tap, but that will definitely discourage him from coming in again and consequently, I think Ortega's gonna tag him with his jab for the rest of the fight while using his MMA-sdapted Philly shell to defend Edgar's attacks. Also, I don't think Frankie will leg kick as much because Ortega only needs to catch one to finish him. If Ortega gets top position on Frankie, forget about it. But the first round will be very interesting as they both have boxing-based styles (in the stand up dept.) so it will be interesting to see the Philly shell vs the peekaboo style. Fascinating fight. (In all honesty, it doesn't matter who wins because Max would dust both of them, but it's still an interesting fight)

You can slip a knee, just like an upper cut. High level Muay Thai fighters slip, duck, and roll kicks and knees all the time. It's just a matter of distance, position, and timing. The angles aren't much different than punches.

I really like that you've adapted your style to have the talking before the music + clips + writing. Clever

I became an Cruz/MMA/UFC/ fan after seeing a replay fight of Dominick Cruz vs Scott Jorgensen … It is unfortunate for Cruz with all his injuries…he is not the same person.. :/

Do you think he developed his style based around peekaboo? Or just happened naturally? I see people fight this way just from learning head movement not necessarily emulating Tyson.

There's no way in hell Ortega wins, 4 weeks is not enough time to prepare to deal with a fighter like Frankie Edgar

Ortega hasn't had to deal with a monster elite yet, and Frankie hasn't dealt with a BJJ expert on this level (who actually tried to employ his BJJ). If Edgar's pace, tenacity, and experience are enough to avoid the sub, he wins. Otherwise it'll be T-City.

I’m a huge Frankie fan but it’s Ortega’s time now, to big and will take that natural advantage of lengthiness while Frankie exposes the neck as usual and although Frankie will escape majority of the attack’s I feel that Ortega’s deep knowledge of the detailed adjustments to secure a sub from any position will be the X factor in this fight !
He will have guillotine head n arm and darst as an option no other way finish him on the ground- or k.o but it’s hard to believe because nobody has demonstrated that in the past .

I would like to see Ortega goes against a legit Brazilian black belt that is bigger then him in an mma fight..!

    Hey Scout;
I'm a big fan of the UFC and appreciate their rights to their own content and their right to control how it is used. However, I want to point out that the way you use their content is in an educational way and has two effects upon viewers:
    1. It brings free promotion to upcoming fights, i.e. when I see your case studies, it reminds me that Frankie will be fighting on 222 tonight.
    2. It educates the viewer on actual techniques that are being used and therefore increases the viewers enjoyment of the actual event, i.e. when I watch 222 tonight I will be watching for Frankie's peekaboo entry.
Your videos raise my awareness of what is happening and increase my interest and appreciation for the UFC (as well as other events that you showcase).
Please UFC, let Scout do his/her thing!

    Solid video!

Part way through and I just noticed I'm able to track the MMA videos with the text only WAAAAAYYYYY easier than the BJJ ones. Not sure what's that's about, maybe the entangled nature of BJJ requires a different type of attention from me, making the voice a better option to absorb the details?

Either way, great video, can't wait for the next one!

    Theory:

Voice vs Text debate was 50:50 split.
So the robot voice is to tip the balance off of the 50:50 split and thus make the transition to text according to majority rule.
