Reverse Seat Belt – Hook Switch Back Take

Reverse Seat Belt - Hook Switch Back Take

If the hip bump fails you, chances are they have a wide base. That’s good – as it gives you more room to switch your hooks and take their back.

I believe I learned this from a Grappling Magazine with the legendary Saulo Ribeiro, who taught this with the gi. I learned quickly that it works fine no gi too.

If you like going into the truck position, this can easily be adapted to do just that. Just be careful, as your opponent can also truck roll you once you switch hooks. As long as you are mindful of that, you can prevent it by keeping your feet well grounded and keeping tension on your hamstrings. That will cause their truck roll to stall and give you an easier back take.
