Korie Wilson says
If people are going to wrist lock, heel hook, or whatever a crank is just fine with me.
We are training though. Be good to your training partners and remember that most of us have families and work to go to.
Darlene Witham says
Cause they suck. Tf
Ezequiel Gonzalez says
They are not controversial but an extremely easy way to paralyze someone or get paralyzed. Cranks on other parts of the body are injuries you can live with say a inverted heel hook. You will still walk and live a normal life. A neck crank can easily result in negligent homicide. Is the ego worth that much? Not only will you ruin your life, your family’s life but that of your instructors livelihood all for ego’s sake. Nobody will say how great that neck crank was. If your instructor survives the lawsuit you’ll be thrown out. Bu there are those twenty somethings that have yet to feel life’s wrath.
Craig Popsie says
Cranks are for tourneys and street fights, not training in the dojo, jus sayn’.
Mark McLelland says
Pretty much echo most of the above. We’re all on the same journey and there’s no pleasure in cutting someone else’s short.
If you’re at worlds, knock yourself out. If you’re at the gym respect your training partners.
