I know this video has been out for a few months, but a buddy of mine had this heel hook version from Garry Tonon on when your opponent is using the Berimbolo technique and thought i would share it for you guys incase you wanted another approach https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qG8VVq1GtOQ&feature=youtu.be
This has to be one of the best Youtube channels out. I hope Gary Tonon goes to MMA one day, I would love to see his Jiu Jitsu wizardry against strikes. Also Santa, can I see a Gary Kron rematch in a future Metamoris?
I believe all leg locks should be allowed in the brown and black belt divisions in tournaments with an ibjjf ruleset. Theres honestly no real reasoning behind making them illegal….yeah there dangerous. So are armbars and kimuras. Want to know how to not get injured? Tap!
Is it just me or does it seem that as the no gi sub only rules get more popular grappling is moving away from a "orthodox" bjj position before submission approach to a more firepower heavy approach a lot of which look's like stuff out of a old catch wrestling book.
I say submission grapplers separate themselves from traditional Brazilian Jiu Jitsu guys. If they want to be stuck in 2000 and late with their old technique and hatred of leg locks why not just separate ourselves from them? Brazilian Jiu Jitsu evolved from Japanese Jiu Jitsu, it is time for the evolution of Submission Grappling
Awesome stuff. Was happy to see that one of my favourite sweeps were listed aswell. The deep half guard to waiter sweep. I guess i've found the leg lock position from there also but haven't really thought of it as a natural progression from that position. Going to try it out more.
Love Garry's style, attitude and approach to BJJ. Also love your videos.

Interesting question about mental strength and the possibility of training it at the end too.

Maybe do a Diaz brother next?
After this week's super fight please update this. great work.
I love you Bjj Scout
Very insightful video. If you o those leg kicks in a real street fight you can get kicked in the face. That's what worries me.
At 3:12 BAM tonon gets kicked in the face in a real street fight!
How is named that sweep 0:25 to 0:28

Wow, never knew he went the distance against a way, way bigger Buchechca. Guess nobody will submit on mma LW and FW divisions.
Fun grappler to watch! I like his style!
