One of the most common questions I get is “what do I do when my opponent drops to his knees and doesn’t want to try to pass?” Well this is a band aid a lot of people try. But passing on your knees is very dangerous if you can’t get to double under/over under passing positions. You are exposed to a lot of old school submission set ups that had become almost impossible to hit in today’s meta of standing passing knee cuts and leg drags. But the game comes full circle when the lapel guards force people out of the meta and they revert to older styles to deal with the pressure. That’s when cool push pull concepts and closed guard type attacks open up. It’s a cycle. And you fell right into it! This is a squid guard arm bar set up that I like to use. It’s difficult to see from this angle but I have squid and dropped to his knees and I have a squid ? closed guard thing going on @hyperfly @keenanonline @spyder_korea
Wow cool free stuff for you! The free sample page has been updated to have some of my most decadent dishes. If you don’t want to sign up you need to at least go learn from these free videos so you have at least some chance at becoming better. If you don’t go now I might run out of digital video samples so get them while you can. Find it at Keenanonline.com/sample-pack/ or hit the link on my profile page @keenanonline
Saved by the worm. I had to help out my boys guard. @mariolopez has some dope wrestling and guard passing already (he smushed sunshine with the most brutal face crank I’ve ever seen) and now he’s got the worm system for his bottom game. I feel bad for whoever he faces in the next celebrity death match. (Anybody remember that show) anyways part 1 of this lesson is on the site @keenanonline @hyperfly
In honor of the 40 minutes of triangle defense I taught last week. Here’s me doing what I’m actually best at. I actually hate being on bottom. It’s a miserable place. If I was a judo master and could take everyone down I would play top every match. I’m much better at passing and submitting people from top. True story. @hyperfly @keenanonline @spyder_korea. ? Some other worldly guard attacks and how to link non-lapel guards into lapel attacks is a big focus on the #lapelencyclopedia that is available now. Go buy it at the link in my profile or story. Support your local American Jiujitsu creator. #triggerwarning @hyperfly @keenanonline
Today is the day. The system of 100% American Jiujitsu has been conglomerated into a 9 chapter super series, to teach you alone multi-faceted art of lapel based Jiujitsu. Is available now. On LAPELGUARD.COM This is not normal Jiujitsu, and I mean this totally in a literal sense, you can not learn this stuff anywhere else. It was all being held inside my over sized head. Until now. This is Jiujitsu designed to beat Jiujitsu. GO PICK UP YOUR COPY ASAP. The winds of change have begun to blow. And you must… Adapt… or die. Links in bio and my story. @keenanonline @hyperfly
4 days until my loyal worm army takes to the streets and unleashes the entire lapel system onto those misfortunate enough to have not studied the ways of the encyclopedia. It’s going to be like a purge event. But seriously this instructional will reshape the landscape of Jiujitsu. So much is going to have to change to deal with all the blue and purple belts wrecking with this stuff at ibjjf. Already we’ve seen people destroying at lower belts but now that the fog of war has been lifted, it’s a whole new game. Stay tuned. This Monday. Link in my profile for more information. @hyperfly
5 days left to launch. ?INTERMEDIARY LAPEL CONTROL?A large portion of the #lapelencyclopedia is Intermediary Control. Everyone knows that once you get a locked in lapel guard (worm squid gubber etc) the position feels stupid strong. But getting there while still maintaining a strong guard can be difficult. To avoid feeling like you are lost with a limp lapel in your hand before achieving a lapel guard you have to understand the foot placements, the grips and the body positioning to play guard with just a hand on the lapel. These positions are called intermediary controls. The inbetween guards that tie the system together and is what has allowed me to make this all work at a High level. I have never shown this concept before but this is the key that lapel guard players are missing. The first half of this instructional, yes the first 4.5 hours is spent on discussing and explaining intermediary controls and how to use them to make your guard complete. This is a side of my Jiujitsu that is much deeper than worm or squid combined and will make a lot of people who have been following this style have that ? AH HA moment. 5 days left to launch. LINK IN BIO FOR MORE INFO. Put in your email at that link for updates and being first to know when you can buy my best product I’ve ever created.

Jiu-Jitsu is a unique martial art, where offense can be the best defense. Unlike striking arts where being over aggressive can leave you open to a lot of counter attacks. In grappling, there is very little risk to being aggressive, in fact most blue belts and purple belts who win in the gym or in competition aren’t necessarily the most technical. But the most aggressive. That’s due to them (usually unbeknownst to themselves) using the concept of tempo. There’s just very little opportunity to counter attack against aggressive guard passing. This only works when a technique is applied properly. The number one piece of advice I give and receive, is to be aggressive. It’s usually easier to tell someone to fight hard than to explain Tempo. However, this is why aggressive fighters have a lot of success in Jiujitsu, check out @keenanonline in the blue belt course for more info on tempo.
