This is my favorite way to defend the guillotine or front headlock position. I really have to be careful with my neck since I’ve had an ACDF surgery so, I always want my defenses to be things that keep my posture strong. This can be a long fight, but if you stay patient you can usually win the grip fight and get back to guard. I’m not much of a wrestler, so I like to get back into the guard for my sweeps and reversals rather than turning into a scramble.
