In this follow-up clip, BJJ black belt Leigh Remedios revisits the ankle pick sweep from seated guard — this time highlighting the principle of Kazushi, or off-balancing, from Judo.
Filmed at the Jiu Jitsu Brotherhood Super Seminar, Leigh explains how to create just enough forward pressure to disrupt your opponent’s base, making the sweep easier, cleaner, and far more reliable. A great example of how classic Judo concepts apply beautifully to modern BJJ guard work.
This video was filmed at the 2023 JJB Network Spring Super Seminar hosted by @KingstonJiuJitsu . You can learn more about the JJB Club Network here: https://www.jiujitsubrotherhood.com/pages/jiu-jitsu-brotherhood-club-network
