The Six Main Ways to Stop the Knee Cut

Guard retention is one of the hardest skills to develop in jiu jitsu because there are so many different ways a person can pass the guard. The knee cut pass is one of the most powerful and common guard passes in all of jiu jitsu, because of this it is very important to have a good defense. There are many different variations and levels of this pass, so it requires multiple defenses. In this video I go through 6 methods I like to use.

1. The Lasso
2. Clearing out the bottom Leg
3. The Overhead Bump
4. Reverse DLR
5. Frame and Technical Sit Up
6. The Roger Gracie Defense
