weirdest move in Jiu Jitsu - The Ham Sandwich

The Ham Sandwich is something I use to set up EASY sweeps & submissions ESPECIALLY when someone reaches for my head (Making their own legs light) to attack Guillotines and Anaconda chokes.

If you are already investing in the leg lock game, you’re gonna find that this is an easy addition to your game. The submission itself serves as a calf slicer, or even more accurately, a hamstring slicer. You will definitely get the submission sometimes, but you’ll most often find utility for the Ham Sandwich as a sweep.

Remember to keep your body in good position at all times and don’t force the movement! You’re gonna be doing some unusual movements with body weight on you, so learning to make this happen with efficiency is gonna be crucial to your long term success with it.

As a 10th Planet Black Belt, I’ve got tons of material that’s a little off the beaten path and super fun to work into your no gi training.
