It might sound like a funny thing but as a beginner, I didn’t do anything to stop my opponent getting grips on me and I never took advantage of grips being presented to me. It wasn’t until I made that mental switch that my game really started to turn around. It’s really not hard, in many ways it’s a mental thing. Paying attention and giving yourself permission. You don’t have to let people get a great grip on you and you really, really should fight to get a great grip on your opponent. Anyway, guys, I hope you like this video.
