I am from Greece and i have a BJJ school,here the country is almost at FULL quarantine from today.I took a dificult decision and closed my school since Westerday,finacially its gonna kill me,but money can be made again PUBLIC health is the most important thing in life.We take care for us and for our loved ones…Please stay safe and may God Bless us all.

  10. Garry is right in saying there is no point in closing for 2 weeks, If people are going to close their gyms then they will have to close them indefinitely. I also think it's not right to condem people for continuing to train, it's not their fault corona came into exsistence. People not self isolating if they have corona ofcourse is irresponsible.

  17. Garry Tonon is 100 percent correct. It's completely pointless to close your gym for a couple days or weeks. It will only help a little bit if you close it down for 6 months(or however long it takes for this problem to blow over). It's spreading rapidly, all the experts are saying it's getting much worse. We all go out to malls, grocery stores, clothing stores, gastations, etc etc etc that thousands upon thousands of people go through it. In jiu jitsu, a packed class is like 20 people. You're more likely to get the virus touching a gas pump than a jiu jitsu class. You're more likely to get it shopping for groceries one day than going to BJJ for the next month at least. Shutting it down for a week does absolutely nothing.

  20. Garry Tobin I don’t understand your logic. You take the virus seriously so you conclude that going on as business as usual and have social contacts is the best thing we can do, that doesn’t even make any sense at all whatsoever

  23. Im from NSW Australia, im not sure if I should stop training yet? my gym is open and i dont know of any other gyms that have closed yet. Thoughts?

  24. I moved to close my school today. We are in Pullman Washington. I am going to encourage my students to get the Fariafree item & buy from his site in the future. I am also thinking about doing an online format where the kids can train with their parents from home πŸ™‚ stay well martial arts community!

  27. While i’m A fan of Gary tonon, smart intelligent guy, but he’s very small minded about this issue. This virus is a huge issue, and you couldn’t think of an easier way to spread it than jiujitsu.

  28. Have small groups and sanitize after every class. Life also has to go on. If virus is in your area in high numbers that’s different. There is only 44 cases in the province i live in and all a couple hours away.

  29. i have corona and still train its all bullshit, nothing happens i am fine so all our academy. we luv jiu jitsu n can not live without it. real jiu jitsu spirit its about keep training get through it show you are strong.

  43. DDS is full of Trumpster guys who are experts in BJJ, but think that their expertise extends to public health issues. We are talking about BJJ, where you can literally sweat into the other person's eyes and mouth! Of course they should all close. It was obvious from Tonon's comments that he did not even know that someone could be asymptomatic and still have the virus.
