  12. People dont realize the mentality of these fighters back then. Being a jiu jitsu fighter was like carrying a coin in the military. At any time someone slapped the coin down you had to answer.

    It was a nonstop journey to master ever challenge and take on any discipline. Here he was in someone elses tournament doing someone elses art and making jiu jitsu work.

    As time progressed and people and arts evolved and became merged together things changed.

    But back then, in those times, we all carried that torch and did everything we could to test and move the art forward.
