Once I began to understand how Butterfly Guard works, in terms of structure and leverage, it enhanced my understanding of every position on the ground and also how many throws and takedowns work, as well. In this video, I do my best, in a short amount of time, to convey important principles with technical examples. I hope this is helpful.

Watch your arms! Hip Post Kimura Counter

If you are a Kimura fiend, this move is for you.

If you need to be able to attack with the Kimura from all angles, this is just a cool way of attacking that your opponent would never suspect. This particular setup starts from side control, when your opponent posts on your hip to make space to shrimp. So you just attack the posting arm with a Kimura.

Risky? Yes.

But, if you have a great Kimura game, you won’t have much trouble locking this up and getting the finish.
