When you’re on the ground, you never want to get stuck or stalled. Referees will call Matte. It would be best if you learned how to show the progression on the ground. Here is an excellent example of showing progression to continue for the win on the ground.

Even when you have a completely dominate grip sometimes you still need to fake your partner out to throw them. Here is a great example of how Jimmy out grips his partner then fakes the forward direction to get the reaction to score with his Sumi Gaeshi.
