12 Minutes of BJJ Side Control Escapes & Guard Retention Focused Rolling

Today’s video will focus on one of the most frustrating pins in BJJ, the Side Control.

Specifically, it will focus on escaping side control.

You will see me do rounds with my Jiu-Jitsu students here at Derby City MMA, in Louisville, Kentucky. Specifically, I will be rolling with my Brown Belts & Black Belts.

I haven’t done a rolling video in a while and was excited to do another one. I have a side control escape series coming out soon too, so you can see some of the techniques from that instructional being used here, in live training.

If you’re struggling with side control escapes, you can start zoning in on specific rolls like you see in this video to help you improve in those uncomfortable areas.

On Sundays, we have an open mat so it’s a great time to choose a position and try to work through it like I decide to do here.
