What’s up, guys!
Today’s question comes from a viewer who’s looking to get back into Jiu-Jitsu competitions after a 5-year break due to life and parenthood. He’s finally starting to get the itch again, but he’s feeling unsure about whether he still has the aggression and competitiveness that most Jiu-Jitsu competitors have.
He’s worried about going to a competition and getting smashed, and he’s asking if I have any tips to help him get back into the groove.
In this video, I’ll share my own experience with competing, taking a 2-year break for various reasons, and how I eventually got back into the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions.
I’ll also talk about the mental shift I had over time—the way my mindset changed as I got older. Competition became a lot less important to me, and the fuel I ran on evolved.
I hope you find this video helpful. Let’s get into it!
Thanks for watching.
