Tarik Hopstock is one of the most successful BJJ competitors to ever come out of Norway and is famous for creating the Tarikoplata. He is the reigning under 80kg champion at Ocean BJJ Pro Championship and is currently preparing to defend his title.

Jits Magazine’s Alex Lindsey spoke to Tarik about his experience as an elite competitor from a smaller Jiu-Jitsu scene, and he shared how he was able to excel. Tarik also explained how he was able to develop and refine the Tarikoplata, along with how he improves his skills on the mat. Lastly, he looked back at how he won the Ocean BJJ Pro Championship 2024 and how he plans to win it again in 2025.

Gianni Grippo is a multiple-time IBJJF no gi world champion and ADCC veteran who has spent over a decade at the top of the sport. Gianni is currently preparing to compete at EBI 25, where he is one of several elite lightweights battling it out for the title.
