The #1 Rule for Getting Really Good at BJJ is Wrong

In BJJ there is often this idea that all you have to do to improve is this 1 thing. Many Black Belt coaches will say it’s the #1 thing you have to do to improve in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. Heck, I’ve probably said it before. Nowadays though, I think it’s wrong, and if not wrong at least incomplete.

I explain why this common rule for Jiu-jitsu progress is ok but not what I would consider the #1 rule if you want to be good. And I think most of us in BJJ don’t get into it to be just “ok”. We want to be the best possible grapplers we can be. We may not be the next 24 year old Black Belt world champ, but we want to reach OUR potential.

And if you want to reach your potential it’ll require a lot of things. I talk about 1 of these important factors in this video.

Hope the video helps you with your BJJ training.
