Raphael Ferreira vs Nick Sahf might have been the greatest and most exciting Jiu Jitsu match of all time, right up there with Kade Ruotolo vs Andrew Tackett from the inaugural Craig Jones Invitational.
As the Color Commentator for CJI, ADCC, AIGA, UFC Fight Pass Invitational, EBI, PGF, and pretty much every major BJJ platform on earth, I feel more than qualified to say that I have never seen a match with a higher pace or with more submission attempts.

Do you have friends or family members you’d like to join our cul…I mean, our martial art!? Hah!
This is what’s going on with our buddy Dan who’s a BJJ purple belt. He says he has family members interested in doing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and he wants to know what a good lesson is for his family members so that they’d get interested in BJJ and not just drop off after their first experience.
So, I answer the question from the standpoint of getting someone excited so they can carry that enthusiasm into the difficulty that awaits them.
I’ll try to answer this from a human psychology perspective. I’ll also dive into the technical introduction, which I will focus on.
I’ll ever compare your first BJJ experience to a first date. The idea might be a little out there, but if you watch till the end it’ll make sense.
