The double under pass can be criptonoight for many people. This is one of the ways I like to deal with this pass. There are many options to defend the pass but this is one of my favorites.
The key things for this defense to work is to get yourself moving as soon as they the start to get their grips. If they get you locked down you may have to try what I mentioned in the video straightening out your legs and pushing the hands. This move does reiquire a bit of athleticism. Once you get it down it is very easy to hit though. If you are having trouble try the drills I’ve shown on the channel to practice inverting first. If you can go inverted this move should be fairly easy for you to do.
Hopefully you all enjoyed this video and got a good laugh, and another technique for the arsenal thanks for watching!

In preparation for this years BJJ Suit Rolling, I took my annual trip to the local goodwill to look for ridiculous get up.
If you’re not familiar with suit rolling go check out my older video which is absolutely ridiculous.
This is a ridiculous tradition myself and my Brazilian Jiu-jitsu team have. It’s fun and we have a great time. Most people probably look at it and think, “why on earth?” and honestly, it’s hard to give anyone a clear answer.
That said, we have a great time, it’s all in good humor and for us, that’s all that matters.
So I know this is not my normal Brazilian Jiujitsu style video. But I hope you have a good time watching the funny things that took place in the goodwill as well as the upcoming suit rolling video. 🙂

This is my favorite submission from the side control its is super easy to hit and has won me a lot of matches. The key to this technique is learning how to distribute your weight so you do not lose your position.
Another key thing here is switching your grips up on the arm after securing it if you have a scrappy opponent. It will save you a lot of time and frustration! I usually always start off with trying to finish the straight armbar just because it’s the easiest than I will switch it up if it doesn’t work.Try and manipulate the arm so that it will be hyper extended or In simple terms just push the arm the way it’s not supposed to go and you will get the tap haha .
The ending is for fans of the chewjitsu channel that have seen me on their talking about a guy who said
“you are a 140LB piece of trash. I am 6’4 and 340LBs I’ll fight you any day. no liabilities bro!”
So I wanted to poke a little fun at this since a lot of people loved it haha here is the video if you haven’t seen it:

I was asked the question “what is your favorite leglock?”. It was a super tough question to answer because I love all leglocks each have their own advantage. But if I had to pick The toe hold is my go too. Toe holds are everywhere and very easy to catch.
I went to a tournament about 7 years ago and won 5 matches all by toe hold. Funny story goes with this it is actually how I met our affiliate instructor I didn’t mean to do it but I popped four of the people’s ankles I went against. so when I went against his guy last he told his student “if this kid touches your feet just tap.” I actually just learned the toe hold three days before ever since that day I’ve loved them.
The second leglock was shown to me by a good friend of mine who came from joe Baize’s school. He taught me this submission and I started using it all the time it’s unsuspecting and super easy to hit if done correctly.
What is your favorite leglock?

It feels good to be back! I hope everyone had as great of a week as me. I got stuck right in the middle of hurricane Nate on my cruise haha but I pretty much just got an extra two days of vacation so I can’t complain at all!
This is by far my favorite way to recover Guard. The granby roll is a super effective technique to stop guard passers. Once you have perfected this technique it will seem almost impossible to pass your guard.
I didn’t mention It in the video but an important thing I’m doing is when I go up on my side I am also keeping my hand down low to prevent my opponent from just getting their hooks in and taking my back.your opposite and can be used as a distance maker as you can see me doing in the video.
You want to really make sure you are getting up to your shoulder and neck to maximize your roll power. If you don’t go all the way up you will be shut down instantly.
Give it a try let me know what you think and again great to see everyone back see yah next time!
Also I am not calling out canelo my student just looks exactly like him lol

These bjj side control escapes have helped me out many times. I actually got hit with this technique when I was a blue belt and adopted it in my game. The key is just getting enough movement to make them post their hand out. After that you are free to move again.
If they do not post their hand out it should be fairly easy to finish the first arm roll escape. Again the key is momentum so I have to follow through without stopping. Otherwise this Escape will be extremely hard and will become a muscle move rather than actual technique.
By locking out the arm when you do the big wave you are stopping them from just squeezing you back down to the mat so be sure to really drill this detail in your head if you plan on using it!

Recently I received a question about what to do when someone farts during a roll in BJJ.
The question came from our buddy Jan from the Chewjitsu instagram and he wanted to know how to proceed for his Brazilian Jiu-jitsu training.
In short, if someone farts during Brazilian Jiujitsu training. . . you just keep rolling.

In this video myself and Mike ( Aka Mr Jiujitsu from Facebook) sat down and answered a few questions. Mike was in town so we’ve had the chance to train together a bit and decided to have fun and do a video together.
We definitely answer the BJJ questions in different ways and from different perspectives.
The questions look something like this. . .
1. What should I do when my significant other is trying to take time away from my Brazilian Jiu-jitsu training?
2. My Brazilian Jiujitsu coach is wanting me to start wearing the gym gi. I’m wondering if this is normal or if it’s McDojo.
3. What’s are our thoughts on cross training at other Bjj gyms in the area.
But I hope you enjoy the video!
