this submission is nasty on your shoulders! It is also really hard to get out of once it’s locked in. Be careful when applying this in the gym.
It is a fairly simple submission as well. Just look for openings to sneak your foot under the leg or the armpit.

Here is a quick flow drill that I like to teach to my students in order to develop their hip mobility, leg dexterity, and coordination between arms and legs.
You gotta be familiar with the armbar, triangle, and omoplata, so if you are a brand new white belt this is probably not the best drill for you…
But if you are familiar with those submissions, this drill can definitely help your transitions and Jiu Jitsu overall.

Every triangle choke entry also sets up an omoplata attack. This is a super-useful concept if your legs are on the short or thick side and you have difficulty finishing bigger opponents with the triangle choke! Related videos include
