Passing the open guard is one of the most difficult and frustrating things in BJJ. This video I show a basic system that can be used at every level. I focus on the principles of threatening passing the open guard before your opponent establishes grips. I discuss a game plan for how to approach every main position your opponent can be in. The diving back take is often seen as a flashy move, but it is also extremely useful. Your opponent is usually expecting you to pass the guard so they defend in a specific way, but when you chain your attacks to threaten the back from top it off sets so many movements they use to defend. This video I give a fast guide to understanding these attacks and how to use them.

This video I go over in my opinion the single most effective guard passing system in jiu jitsu. Its so easy to force your opponent to this position, once you get to the strong inside leg position your opponent has only a few options. Most common response from your opponent will be to control your ankle and play the de la riva guard. Once you learn the basics of the normal and reverse leg drag, the knee cut and folding pass, and the de la riva smah, its very difficult for your opponent to defend.
