In closed guard, the arm drag is a great way to give yourself a mechanical advantage in the position. And the grip you will learn in this video is one of the most effective methods I’ve learned to get that arm across the center line.

Then once it’s there, a whole host of options exist for finishing with the armbar, and we’ll explore three of them here.
